For the Birds
Lots of people feed their backyard feathered friends. It is a great way to see birds up close and to observe some of their behaviors. There are all sorts of different bird feeds on the market. It is a good idea to take stock of what kinds of birds you will be feeding and then research what kinds of things they eat. I suppose it could be likened to researching diet supplements you are considering for yourself. You need to make sure that it is going to be the best fit before taking it. The same goes for feeding your backyard birds. For instance, finches prefer to eat niger thistle seed while cardinals prefer sunflower seeds. Not only will you probably need to feed more than one kind of bird feed but you will probably need more than one type of feeder. Some birds like to eat off of the ground or a raised platform while others need a perch type feeder. Again, do a little research and you will have some great fun!
