Purple Martin House
Monday, November 16th, 2009I was walking through the farm store the other day. I had to walk through the bird aisles on my way from the chicken feed to the cat food. I noticed that they had some nice apartments for purple martins on display. I don’t think I have ever seen a purple martin house at the farm store before. I am quite intrigued by these large swallows. There is a Mennonite farm near here that has hundreds of purple martins every year. I would love to put up a martin house to see if I can attract any. It sure would help on the mosquito population!
