Suet

Friday, October 16th, 2009

October has been unusually cool and wet here in the Midwest. With the cooler weather we need to remember that birds are burn fat at a faster rate than they normally would at this time of year. You can help them out by hanging suet. You can either buy it ready made or you can make your own. You can also get your kids or grandkids involved in this, too. Have them spread peanut butter on pine cones and then roll it in birdseed. Tie a piece of yarn around it to hang it from. This is a quick and easy way to make a suet feeder to hang in your trees.
