Bird Watching

Thursday, October 30th, 2008

I was at my in-laws this weekend which afforded me time to watch the birds at their awesome feeding station set up. There were all sorts of sparrows, gold finches in their winter plumage, yellow-bellied woodpeckers, nuthatches, chickadees, cardinals, blue jays and even an Eastern bluebird. It seems that the bluebird is a little late in his migration. Hopefully there is plenty of feeders along his route so he doesn’t end up at his destination looking like he took Lipozene. What will be interesting to see is if she spots that bluebird again. She says she has never seen one in the 17 years they have lived in that house. I really enjoyed watching the great variety of birds at her feeders. I hope to be able to eventually attract variety like that at my feeders.
