Diet Food

Friday, June 22nd, 2007

I am going to talk about my domestic chickens. This week I have found them search the yard for baby birds that have fallen from their nest. Then they eat them. That really icks me out. But then I saw one carrying around a dead mouse it found. Yes, it ate that, too. I am really amazed at what chickens will eat when they are left to forage for themselves. They even eat chicken scraps that I put out for the dog and cats. And they will follow me around if they think that I will be pulling out the bag of Premium dog food because they are just waiting to get into it. I have learned a whole lot about their diets and some of it was certainly a surprise!
