Keeping Your Bird Bath Clean
Monday, March 26th, 2007I have touched on bird baths before but with warmer weather I thought I would say some more. You want to make sure that the water is clean. I am not saying you should use Portable Water Filters to keep it clean. Replacing the water daily and scrubbing down your bath once a week or so will keep the water clean and safe for your birds. You can use some bleach in your scrubbing water and let it sit for 15 minutes or so to kill and retard algae. Just make sure that you don’t let the birds drink this water while it is sitting. Just cover your bath with plywood or whatever you have that works. Also be sure to rinse it well after you let the bleach water sit. A clean bird bath makes for happy birds!
