Get a Book

If you are going to bird watch, you are going to have to get a bird book. Unless you are completely happy just watching and never knowing what it is you are watching. I can’t fathom that but maybe some people prefer going about it that way. I have a 1963 copy of A Field Guide to the Birds by Roger Tory Peterson. Yes, it is old. But it is a great book for identifying birds. It has good colored pictures and accurate written descriptions. It also has a ruler on the back cover to use as a gauge when determining bird size. If you do a search at Amazon, you will see that Peterson is a guru in the field guide world. Really, it matters not which birding book you select as long as it has the basic bird description information. You can decide from there what else you would like to be included. On some inclimate day, go snuggle up in a Barnes and Noble or Borders and peruse the birding books. I am sure that you will come away with one that is perfect for you.
